2) Simple holding technique - 100 points
If you find that you are throwing the dart too low try holding the dart further back with the flight resting on your hand. Similarly, if you are throwing too high hold the dart further towards the tip. Another good tip is when practising at a certain number eg. T20, leave a dart in the spot you are aiming for and just aim for the dart. When you are more confident remove the dart but still imagine it there when playing.

5) how to finish better - 65 points
Once you have got to below 170 you will be urged to go for the professional finishes recommended, avoid this because you might not be able to hit that double. throw 15 darts at each double and see how many you get with the 15 darts once you have figured out which ones your best at and practise getting down to them soon you will be able to finish well and you won’t be annoyed that you keep missing that double. I’ve hit a 129 finish using this technique.
tips:
If you are taking up darts as a career you will have to practise on every double and treble
Four effective training techniques
1. around the clock (just the singles)
2. around the clock (doubles)
3. around the clock (trebles 7-18)
4. treble 20-treble19-bull
Get into a routine practise on something different every day

7) Do not drop the elbow - 50 points
Everyone has their own technique. But here is a simple geniune tip: do not let your elbow drop! The dart and arm should stay level with the dart board, dropping the elbow means shooting away from your intended target. When the elbow drops, you have just taken away your 'line' going to the target. Try this, your game will all of a sudden improve DRAMATICALLY.

8) Never stretch a cold muscle - 45 points
When preparing to play sport, it's important (and common sense) to warm up and stretch. It's also important that you don't stretch a cold muscle. Always warm up and THEN stretch. Stretching a cold muscle can lead to muscle tearing and possibly injury.

9) How to avoid wobbly darts - 40 points
Wobbly darts? (Sorry to say, the problem is not usually the equipment.) Examine your throw.. the dart should stay close to level during the entire stroke. A wobble only occurs if the dart leaves the hand pointing somewhere other the target. To avoid wobble in the first place, hold the dart level, parallel to the ground, keep it in that level position during the entire stroke, and then follow through straight to the board with your hand, so that the darts stays level. If it leaves your hand level, it won't have a wobble to start with!

10) practice well - 40 points
1. To get better you need to concentrate during practice.
2. Identify where things are going wrong and practice them.
3. DON'T spend hours throwing at T20 - break up throws with other trebles and doubles.
4. Playing '01 (e.g. 501, 301) is NOT practice.
5. If you can, find someone to practice with who has the same ability as yourself.

11) Do not lean forward - 40 points
A huge mistake that many dart shooters make is, too much lean towards the dart board. This makes your body off balanced, leading to a unaccurate throw. Accuracy comes from a balanced stance. It is not worth the few inches gained from too much leaning, balance first then comes accuracy. Many players have reported ankle and back pain due to leaning.

12) Keeping the ball low when shooting - 40 points
Always making 'American football field goals' (way way over the goal) when taking a shot?
The secret to keeping the ball low when taking a shot is keeping your head down. As you approach the ball, keep your head leaning forward. Do not allow your head to lift, if your head lifts your toes will lift also, that is why the ball goes soaring over. Head should be leaning forward and shoulders slightly leaning forward. This keeps the toes pointed downwards toward the grass and makes the ball fly low. A young player who has been doing this the 'wrong way' may take a few practices to re-adjust their already in place shooting technique.

13) Only cath the ball if you're ready for it - 35 points
Only catch the ball if you are really sure you can catch it. I've seen way too many people try to catch the ball only to drop it (thereby being eliminated).

14) Learn how to hold the dart - 35 points
When picking a new dart, be sure that it has some distinctive spot where you can register your fingers. This may be a groove, band of knurling, or scalloped area. It is essential that you hold the dart exactly the same way each time, and a good registration point on the dart ensures this.

Phil Taylor(the 11 times world champion of the world) once said that to get an ancurate 180 you must look straight into the red area so you can almost see the hole that a dart once was placed in. If you get the tip of the dart and place it to the treble 1 or 5. keep looking at the red area. Good luck!!!!!!!

Use your front arm to initiate the javelin throw. The more active and quick your front arm gets, the faster your javelin throwing motion will be and the further the javelin will go. Your javelin throw motion can get quicker overnight with extra use of the front arm so start moving that front arm quickly as you throw the javelin and you'll be enjoying longer javelin throws before you know it!
