Soccer Tips:
1) Keeping the ball low when shooting
Always making 'American football field goals' (way way over the goal) when taking a shot?
The secret to keeping the ball low when taking a shot is keeping your head down. As you approach the ball, keep your head leaning forward. Do not allow your head to lift, if your head lifts your toes will lift also, that is why the ball goes soaring over. Head should be leaning forward and shoulders slightly leaning forward. This keeps the toes pointed downwards toward the grass and makes the ball fly low. A young player who has been doing this the 'wrong way' may take a few practices to re-adjust their already in place shooting technique.

2) Unwanted curve/slice during a shot
If your ball is going too much to the left or right during a shot, your technique is probably incorrect. You should be stirking the ball with your shoe laces, hitting the ball in the center.

3) Uncontrolled chest trap
If you're chest trap attempts do not drop to your feet, your technique is probably incorrect. You are probably pushing out your chest, instead you should pull your chest in and shoot your shoulders outwards. This creates the 'cushion' effect and the ball will softly drop to your feet.

4) Absorbing a fall
Especially to the youth and female players:
Learning how to fall is a safety skill. They should practice how to absorb a fall. Soccer is a contact sport and you never know when someone is going to make hard contact. Inexperienced players should practice falling with one or two hands in front. The hands should hit the grass first, this absorbs the impact of the fall. Especially females, and this may sound funny but it happens over and over again, they just fall onto the ground with whichever part of their body, face, back, stomach. How important is this? this eliminates unneccessary injuries, some falls result in 'end of season' injuries because they do no know how to absorb a fall. Also this leads to the skill - absorb fall and rolling right back up into action.

5) Tips for goalies
Tips for goalkeeping:
Catch the ball with your hands and fingers, not your forearms. A ball hitting the forearms usually bounces away at immediate impact, then the goalie usually does not maintain possess.
Incoming low balls: the goalie should be on at least one knee. Bending over with legs apart can result in the hilarious 'ball through legs' effect.
